This is my favorite song from OB4CL2! While the video isn’t that imaginative, its still nice to have visuals for this record. Whats also nice is seeing Raekwon garner the success he’s receiving from OB4CL2 at this stage in his career. Can anyone say *second wind*? Enjoy

Here’s the official video for Timbaland’s “Say Something feat. Drake”. I had the blessing of hearing Timbaland’s Shock Value 2 and I must admit there are quite a few brilliant records on it, there’s even one with Katy Perry that’s pretty nice. Make sure you check that out, I believe it’s out now.

Exactly.

I wanted to make one big post for three dope videos recently released by two bands I’m big fans of, and one female actress turned singer that features Beck. I love each video because each is an example of a simple idea executed in creative, fairly low budget ways. And as usual, watching these makes me yearn for a day when Hip Hop videos will start pushing the visual envelope. *sighs* Check em’ out!

Vampire Weekend - Cousins

Charlotte Gainsbourg feat. Beck - Heaven Can Wait (I love the video, although I admit I don’t see how it relates to the song itself)

Last but absolutely NOT least Coldplay - Strawberry Swing

Step it up Hip Hop…

A while back we posted some footage of TiRon performing at the Claremont Colleges while opening for The Cool Kids and I guess he decided to drop another video on us via his Twitter. In this one however he’s performing a new joint from his follow up to “Ketchup” entitled “Mustard” and the name of the record is “For Your Smile”. According to his blog the project is scheduled to drop in Feb of next year. If it’s as any good as Ketchup then I can’t wait.

“I decided to perform a new joint from “Mustard” called For Your Smile just to gauge the audience response. Didn’t really expect em to go crazy and get rowdy….but some of the reactions on the faces meant they at least listened to the words of the record. That’s always ill….” - TIRON

Exactly.

QD3 has been working on this Lil Wayne documentary for quite sometime and now that it’s finally finished they decided to drop the first 10 minutes for free. Looks pretty interesting…

Exactly.

The production on this record is kinda nuts but that’s to be expected from the Jack Sample Pros. Here’s the new video for Ty$L’s new joint Betta Ask Somebody featuring YG and Joe Moses. Directed by JE3 Media in association with JustDrugs.

Exactly.

Pac Div linked up with director Carey Williams (who shot “Pac Div”) again to create the new video for Whiplash with a surprise verse from Young Black Male at the end. If you haven’t downloaded that Church League Champions mixtape yet then you definitely need to get with it.

Exactly.

This video for “Truly Yours,” arguably THE standout joint on Diz Gibran’s “Soon You’ll Understand Mixtape,” featuring Chicago’s own Bj, has been a long time coming. The video plays almost as an extension of the acoustic version Diz & Bj did for the same song sometime back. JeromeD directs, and captures shots of two of California’s most beautiful features, the beaches and the valleys. Its always good to see the homie’s aspirations come into fruition. Los Angeles has been mushing forward with no sign of slowing down! Shouts out to Diz Gibran, Bj the Chicago Kid, and Moonshine, the man behind the music. Give it a looksee.

Exactly

I must say that they KILLED this performance and its definitely as monumental of a performance in Jay Z’s career as his Glastonbury one. As a rap artist, its always an achievement to make a song that’s embraced pretty much across the board. Alicia seemed more prepared to hit them notes on the chorus this time around also. IMO, its safe to say that this is the perfect performance and a testament to the larger than life icon Jay Z has been transforming into over the past few years since his “retirement.” Not to mention, Alicia’s booty is just plain STOOPID! One ironic thing I want to point out is how the World Series sees the Yankee’s facing off with the Phillies, and simultaneously, Beanie just dropped a diss for Jay Z! Its crazy how the stars align sometimes, both outcomes will be worth tuning in for.

Exactly

A few weeks back, LA’s finest in the form of Pac Div, Dom Kennedy, TiRon & LAUSD hit Daygo to give our So Cal brethren a taste of Los Angeles. I’m enjoying the idea of shows with most of LA’s up and comers on the bill, it gives people a chance to collectively take in the whole scene all in one night. And of course, not just builds buzz for individual artists, but for the entire scene. The video clip shows scenes of the whole night including the meet n’ greet @ The Attic, and performances @ Club Decco from the aforementioned above. Shouts out to the homie Spintellect for the footage!
