This past weekend Mr. Ronnie along with The Cool Kids rocked the stage for the combined student body of The Claremont Colleges (Pomona College, Scripps College, Claremont McKenna College, Harvey Mudd College, Pitzer College, CGU & KGI)! The Claremont College campuses are adjoining and within walking distance of one another, so that allows for single shows that each college can come out and enjoy. From what I was told, the event was a music festival that was put together by students (?). So, as you can imagine, the entire campus was afire with smaller parties which contributed to the overall party atmosphere of the festival. That equals GOOD TIMES for those slack on their math. I heard The Cool Kids performed a few unreleased tracks too. Check out the video and enjoy.

While surfing the net I came across this HILARIOUS sketch about “what if Jesus release a cologne?” The sketch has every element of a cologne commercial; the trance music, the accompanying “model” chick, and its black and white! These are similar to the ESPO’s (My sneakerheads remember those) and stupid fresh! The obvious inspiration is the Nintendo Wii with clear-gum soles, see-through side panels & ostrich skin all blended together for this crazy concept. Whenever I hear about the Nintendo Wii its always good things, so its only right that a shoe made from that fresh idea would be fresh itself. Expect these to drop for Nike’s Spring/Summer collection at your neighborhood sneaker boutique soon!

For those that are into sunglasses/glasswear know all about Dita, one of the premiere brands in the spectacle world. For Spring/Summer 2009 Dita will be releasing their “Lever” style in four different colors, Bone, Black to Clear Fade, Dark Tortoise & Burnt Brown and Black & Black Swirl. The frame is along the lines of a wayfarer so they automatically give you that classic look. So awhile back we posted the first version to Ryan Leslie’s newest single from his LONG OVERDUE album which is finally being released Feb. 10th. And here’s the second version which is more Ryan Leslie than the last one was lol. In the same vein as Diamond Girl, Ryan steps behind the camera to direct this “Army” themed video. Some parts get kinda corny, but for the most part its a dope video. Here’s what Ryan said about it:
“So much to write about this video. First, I had a concept that I shared with Shiv and the two of us fine tuned it into a treatment. I shopped it to some directors and when they told me how much they expected it to cost ($200K), I decided to direct it myself to give my staff an incredible learning experience.”

So the homie Curtains, down with the GFC Crew has dropped a short video for his joint ‘Night of the Living Dope (Johnny’s Revenge)’. The video is pretty fresh and its good to see Curtains doing his thing and I look forward to The Great Adventures of DoPE Boy C: WHSL Rebel Radio dropping. As I reported earlier, Kanye West, Santogold & Lykke Li were set to collaborate for a project by the name of N.A.S.A. (North America/South America). The actual record has hit the web and is sounding very FRESH. If this is what to expect from this project then I’m very excited for its release. I can definitely hear this getting burn in the club and remixed. Check it out!

I had been hearing a lot about this Beautiful Day Remix and who was rumored to be on it, for the most part all of my sources were pretty spot on. Thurz & Y-O decided to reach out to Big Pooh, Evidence, Fashawn, Theo, Aloe Blacc, Mickey Factz and Kes Kaos to hop on the remix…they even used the beat that plays at the end of the Beautiful Day video, which is bananas! Produced by Dibiase.
