In this day and age we’re constantly reminded of how small the world gets as technology advances. With the recent discovery of this indigenous tribe its good to know that some “mystery” and adventure still remain in a world where Google maps can show you Spain with a simple click of your mouse. Anyway, read the news on Brazil’s discovery of one of the last uncontacted Indian tribes in the WORLD.
RIO DE JANEIRO, Brazil — One of Brazil’s last uncontacted Indian tribes has been spotted in the far western Amazon jungle near the Peruvian border, the National Indian Foundation said Thursday.
The Indians were sighted in an Ethno-Environmental Protected Area along the Envira River in flights over remote Acre state, said the Brazilian government foundation, known as Funai.
Funai said it photographed “strong and healthy” warriors, six huts and a large planted area. But it was not known to which tribe they belonged, the group said.
“Four distinct isolated peoples exist in this region, whom we have accompanied for 20 years,” Funai expert Jose Carlos Meirelles Junior said in a statement.
The tribe sighted recently is one of the last not to be contacted by officials. Funai does not make contact with such Indian tribes and prevents invasions of their land to ensure their autonomy, the foundation said.
Survival International said the Indians are in danger from illegal logging in Peru, which is driving tribes over the border and could lead to conflict with the estimated 500 uncontacted Indians now living on the Brazilian side.
here are more than 100 uncontacted tribes worldwide, most of them in Brazil and Peru, the group said in a statement.
“These pictures are further evidence that uncontacted tribes really do exist,” Survival director Stephen Corry said.
“The world needs to wake up to this, and ensure that their territory is protected in accordance with international law. Otherwise, they will soon be made extinct.”

TRUE: Hillary Clinton Ready To Concede
Filed Under TRUE | Leave a Comment
So earlier today I received a text from a good friend that read “AssociatedPress just announced that Obama is the official democratic candidate for PRESIDENT!!!!!” Needless to say, that text more than raised my eyebrow. So, I immediately checked the news to find info on it and came across no official reports of it, so I had to blog this but I won’t claim it as official. But here’s a little detail on the reports:
by Mark Silva
Hillary Clinton’s campaign is denying a report that the senator from New York is ready to concede the presidential nomination to Barack Obama tonight.
Clinton will concede that Obama, the junior senator from Illinois, has the delegates needed to secure the Democratic Party’s 2008 presidential nomination, two campaign officials are telling the Associated Press anonymously.
The Clinton campaign, publicly, is denying the report.
“The former first lady will stop short of formally suspending or ending her race in her speech in New York City” tonight, the AP’s Beth Fouhy reports. “She will pledge to continue to speak out on issues like health care. But for all intents and purposes, two senior officials said, the campaign is over.”
Most campaign staff will be let go and will be paid through June 15, according to the officials who spoke to the AP on condition of anonymity.
The Clinton campaign is disputing the report about her intentions.
Terry McAuliffe, the Clinton campaign chairman, interviewed on CNN today, called the report “100 percent incorrect.”
But he did say publicly on NBC’s Today show this morning that once Obama has the number of delegates needed for the nomination Clinton will indeed congratulate him and “call him the nominee.”
So perhaps the operative term here is tonight — or manana?

Family Guy creator Seth McFarlane felt it wasn’t enough to have both Family Guy and American Dad. Introducing, The Cleveland Show based on Peter’s mild tempered friend Cleveland Brown. Cleveland moves from Quahog to a place called Stoolbend, VA in order to make good on a promise he made to his high school sweetheart. The spin-off is scheduled to air sometime this spring but there’s a rumor it might not come out until 2009. What do you think? Do you think this will be funnier than Family Guy or will this be another American Dad?

So supposedly, the bullchit* leaked snippets and fake tracklisting of The Carter 3 that recently hit the web last week isn’t the official one at all. I was kinda thrown @ the absence of Lollipop & A Milli, especially since Lil Wayne officially said in a video on MTV.com that A Milli is a song from The Carter 3. With that said, this tracklisting looks more likely, and more promising than what we’re being lead to believe is whats being released in the next few weeks. Many of these collaborations have been confirmed in past interviews also……so, lets not count out The Carter 3 just yet, it might just end up being somewhat “dope”…

Tero Smith a.k.a Camu Tao of MHz passed away yesterday at 2 pm after a year and a half long battle with lung cancer. El P had this to say:
Today, at around 2pm, our dear friend, family member and musical collaborator Tero “CAMU TAO” Smith passed away in his home town of Columbus, Ohio. Tero had been quietly fighting for his life for the last year and a half after being diagnosed with lung cancer.
To those who knew Tero, he was an almost uncategorizable force of nature. Wild, hilarious, proud, loving, tough, outspoken, spontaneous and brilliant. He wore his heart on his sleeve and he dripped creativity, leaving inspiration and awe in the hearts and minds of anyone who was fortunate enough to see him work.
We, his friends and family, have truly had our collective hearts broken by his passing. Not only because of the loss of our friend, but because of the loss of his contribution to those who never knew what we knew about his talent and his potential. He was the secret that no one wanted to keep and we always knew that one day his vision and his heart could change music forever the way he changed all of our lives.
His departure from us all 1 month away from his 31st birthday is nothing less than a tragedy… nothing less than a crime. he was a gift to us all and he is irreplaceable. Rest in peace, Mu. We will love you forever. May god bless you and your family.
R.I.P.
Tero “CAMU TAO” Smith
born 6/26/77, passed 5/25/08

Was over checking out the good folks at HipHopDx.com and came across this tidbit of news about the super cooooolll Cool Kids. With the scene in music experiencing a shift of sorts as genre’s, crowds, & the like seem to be blending, its interesting to see how it will reshape the industry once the smoke clears. The Cool Kids commented on the “sheepness” of ’street’ rappers and the persona they put out in the media. And I must say I have to agree…..check it out..:
The buzz around The Cool Kids is so potent nowadays that it may be un-hip to not know about them.
After their first official EP, The Bake Sale, released earlier this week, the duo sat down with okayplayer.com to talk about the scene they came out of, their main influences, and their expectations to top their own music.
Sure to turn some heads, The Cool Kids expressed their discontent for the plethora of rap artists who bring their literal street demeanor to the studio booth. “You get a lot of rappers that do these interviews and they ask about their subject matter being so violent and graphic and the answer they [rappers] give is ‘I’m from the projects, that’s what I know.’ Yeah but so the fuck what? What does the two streets you live on have anything to do with you? Because you just became a sheep from that. That statement right there just solidified you with sheepness.”
Having a unique sound themselves, Mikey described the vast array of music that captures the diversity in their style coming from the Midwest. “It’s kind of like a weird scene because at any given party you could see a mix of punk kids and Hip Hop kids and indie rock kids and all of that, just all in the same party all having a good time listening to a bunch of different stuff. Like, DJ’s will spin ‘Ay Bay Bay’ and then Hall & Oates. It’s just fun to see how many different genres of music all come into one and just kick it and have a good time out in Chicago. It’s like a real chill vibe, kind of like a free spirit thing.”
Though their most popular record thus far is arguably “Black Mags,” The Cool Kids know their future can only bring bigger crowd pleasers. “The fun of it all is to know that whatever song that you got that’s your best song right now is to keep topping that. That’s what we constantly do. ”
The Bake Sale is available on iTunes exclusively for the time being, with a hard copy release in two to three weeks.

TRUE: Nas Changes The Title Of His New Album
Filed Under TRUE | Leave a Comment
I always knew this COULD happen, but there was a little part of me that thought that this album might actually come out, but I guess Hakeem Jeffries wasn’t messing around. Well played Mr. Jeffries, well played. As for Nas, the hip hop Charlie Brown, they picked up the football again homie.
Taken from Hollywood Insider:
A representative for Def Jam has confirmed to EW.com that hip-hop artist Nas has made an eleventh-hour decision to change the title of his new album from N—– to simply Nas. The Queens rapper sparked a heated debate last fall when he announced the provocative title for his upcoming ninth record, but last October, Island Def Jam Music Group chair Antonio “L.A.” Reid publicly denied widespread reports that label execs were uncomfortable with his decision. “We stand firmly behind and beside our artists with pride and with pleasure,” Reid told MTV News at the time. “Anything Nas wants to do, I completely stand beside him.”

So MTV is doing that Hottest MC list again, and I can already hear people groaning and moaning about it. Oh well, it’s MTV…what are you gonna do?
Why He’s Hot
Hold up. Just last year, T.I. was up for debate to be #1, and now he slips to #10? What happened? First of all, let’s be clear: Tip’s decline in ranking has nothing to do with his skills. We all know that he is still one of the best in the business and his popularity is still intact. Unfortunately, since almost topping the last list, Tip had to take an unforeseen, unwelcome hiatus when he was arrested in November on a slew of gun charges, leading to more than six months of house arrest. Promotions for his platinum T.I. vs. T.I.P. came to an end. The kibosh was put on the single “Hurt” and its video. Any chance of dropping another LP at the top of ‘08 was thwarted quick. Movies, endorsements — everything shut down. He says his arrest probably cost him between $10 million and $12 million. Musically, he was inactive for months while many of his peers continued to put out sterling material.

Congrats to Kidz In The Hall for their new video for Driving Down The Block debuting at #6 on TRL!
In a shocking move for independent Hip Hop, Kidz In The Hall debuted their video “Drivin’ Down The Block” on MTV’s TRL on May 1st. Today, “Drivin’ Down The Block” reached #6 on the sought after chart for Pop music. The video, which parodies the 1980 Kurt Russell film Used Cars, is the first single from the duo of Naledge and Double-O on their Major League/Duck Down release The In Crowd.
The album releases on May 13. This position, which is Duck Down’s first ever appearance on the video countdown, may mean a wider audience for the duo who debuted in 2006 with School Was My Hustle on Rawkus Records.
The group’s manager, Dan Solomito, told industry friends, “This is remarkable news but we’re not content. Lets get it to number #1, and show the world that independent music is alive and kicking!” Citing groups like Panic At The Disco, Chris Brown and Danity Kane as competition, he urged fans of Hip Hop to vote for the single to be propelled further into seemingly uncharted territory.
