For this week’s Old School Tuesday we decided to drop a classic Bad Boy joint. The DJ can play this in a club till this day and still get the audience moving. So feel free to do the wop in your cubical at work and if your boss tells you to stop just turn it up louder, and if by that time he doesn’t join you in a classic cabbage patch then you need to quit your job.

Exactly.

Smooth B was one of my favorite emcees back in the day. Nice & Smooth is one of those classic hip hop groups that always seem to put a smile on my face. Whenever a DJ has the courage to play them in the club these days, it lets me know that all is not lost. Anyway, enjoy this OLD SCHOOL TUESDAY video, Nice & Smooth - Sometimes I Rhyme Slow.

Exactly.

For this Old School Tuesday we decided to take a trip back to 1998 and revisit a classic record in my opinion, Brand Nubian’s Don’t Let It Go To Your Head. I’m aware that a lot of the “new hip hop” fans were born in the 90’s so I figured it would only be right to educate.

Exactly.

And this song still gets the party poppin’!

“Niggas be like AH he changed his style up, SHUT THE FUCK UP you still a dick RYDAAA!”

Exactly!

Does anyone remember this song/video? Or am I just an old fogey? I’d play this at my wedding while doing pelvic thrusts and walking down the isle.

Exactly.

Happy Old School Tuesday everybody! This is a classic hip hop video, especially for the time it came out. There was nothing out quite like it. Ghostface Killah’s Daytona 500 meets Speed Racer? Wouldn’t it be fresh if it actually made the soundtrack for the new Speed Racer movie that’s coming out? Very fly.

Exactly.

For this particular Old School Tuesday I felt it was only fitting to put up a classic Pete Rock & C.L Smooth joint because of the Pete Rock vs. Primo battle that’s going down at Crash Mansion on Friday. Now the obvious video would have been T.R.O.Y, but I didn’t want to neglect the other classics they came with such as this one.

Exactly.

I still have the cassette single of this, back when Blockbuster Music and Warehouse was the place to be. Old school classic Battlecat!

Exactly.

With the dissipation of the hip hop nation, my concentration is on the foundation in order to gain inspiration so I can help maintain and uplift the new generation. Keepin’ it exotic like Haitian Asians that only listen to Cali Agents! *clears throat*

Sorry, I had to get my Keith Murray on.

Exactly.

If it don’t bump bump in the club…..

Exactly.
