Continuing with their 2008 Olympics inspired releases, Nike brings us the Olympic Color Pack. I must say that this is my favorite dunk low release in the past 2 years! Lately I’ve been into solid colors because it allows you rock that simple outfit with the focus being primarily on the shoes…. And of course if you’re funky enough, you can through on a colorful outfit with it..not my style though. Yes people, Zack Lee gets it in! Here’s some details courtesy of the homies over @ Highsnobiety.com:

Nike continues to present product specifically for the Beijing Olympics event. The latest we came across is this Dunk Low Color Pack. It consists of five Dunk Lows, all coming in a unicolor upper in red, green, yellow, blue and grey. They all feature the Olympic Octagon logo that Nike has been using for all Olympic themed product, on the tongue tag. Furthermore the Swoosh come in felt material.

The Nike Beijing Olympics Color Pack will be released at X-Girl retailers in Japan on the 8th of August, with the opening of the Olympics.

Sometime ago I blogged about the upcoming Leather Jacket Chuck Taylor releasing on August 1st and because this is probably one of the freshest releases (in my opinion) of this year, I had to repost it because they’re about to release and they’re so DOPE! The price is kinda steep for Chucks…let along sneakers at that. But anywho, these will only be released in Hong Kong and good luck on getting them! Here’s a few details courtesy of Hypebeast.com:

One of the highlights of the 100th Anniversary from Converse is set for the release with the much anticipated Leather Jacket Chuck Taylor releasing August 1st at select locations. Based on vintage motorcycle jackets, the upper is a construction of patchworks with black anodized zippers and waxed laces. A run of 12 pairs will be available at Hong Kong’s Juice with an exorbitant price (for any shoes let alone Chucks) of $2,999 HKD (approximately $384 USD).

So, continuing with another look @ the upcoming Cre8tive Recreation Italian Collection, we present to you the Cesario. If anyone is familiar with Cre8tive Recks then you’ll definitely recognize the Cesario. There have been a few changes to the to the Cesario model for the Italian Collection, and in my opinion the changes have been for the better. I can’t vouch for the actual construction of these sneakers but I assume (hope at least) that since this is a more upscale collection, it will be along the lines of a Dior, quality wise. The new model is sleeker, and not as colorful as you’d expect from the Cre8tive Reck Cesario. Can’t say I’m a fan of the brogue punching, but that small feature doesn’t take much away from the flyness. As far as release, I’m assuming this collection is dropping next Spring. And if you haven’t seen my first post on the Italian Collection, CLICK HERE! Shouts to Hypebeast for this one!

Now, normally I don’t rock with Cre8tive Recks at all. Not saying they’re ugly, but I just haven’t come across a style from them that makes me stop and look. Currently, the streetwear world is approaching an eve of a new direction (a much needed one if you ask me). In my opinion, style is going from the more sporty/skatey look to a more fashion forward/upscale look. Take these Cre8tive Recks dropping next spring exclusive to Barneys NY. From a first glance, one wouldn’t suspect them to be Cre8tive Recks. Clean, sleek, simple and just plain dope. Kudos out to CR, if this is where you’re taking it, I might just hop on the bandwagon!

Concept-wise, sneakers have not been the most progressive, with the exception of running shoes like the Nike Air technology. But as more high end labels dive into the sneaker world, the envelope gets pushed even further. After all, in the world of high fashion, you’re allowed to be more creative, while sports brands must stayed boxed in to appeal to that “sports” demographic. Take Raf Simons and his Zip Change Sneaker for example. These are pretty damn wild! I love the creativity of the idea itself, as far as the practicality of it, I’m not so sure. The shape of the shoe doesn’t seem as strong since it detachable. Either way, these are pretty dope, KUDOS to Raf Simons!

In anticipation for the 2008 Olympics, Nike releases a pack that is inspired by the Olympic colors. The pack consist of a Nike Blazer Hi & Air Max 1. With white being the main color on the sneakers, the other colors are used just to give a subtle flair. Out of the pack, my favorite is the Blazer Hi, simply because of the gum sole. I have a weakness for gum soles, lol. These are now on sale @ Proper in Long Beach.

While trends are moving away from wildly vibrant colors as the forefront of the sneaker world, every now and then some kicks’ release with crazy colors that are fresh. Coming up in September is the Vans x Dave The Chimp Pack. For those that don’t know Dave The Chimp, he’s a renowned street artist known for his “nameless” street works and fanzines. This collaboration is a lesser known Vans model, the Mid Skool Pro. Besides a clean look & a clever use of the color red, the sole is see through also! Here’s some details from Highsnobiety:

This capsule collection includes a reworking of the Mid Skool Pro alongside two t-shirts utilising bright neon colours and Chimp’s instantly recognizable characters and cartoon eyes. Special attention has been paid to detailing including tattooed toes on the inner footbed, which are mirrored through the trademark Vans waffle sole in crystal clear rubber.

Chimp believes the majority of people go through life asleep and it’s been his mission for over a decade through fanzines and street art to wake people up, switch on their brains and get them thinking for themselves! Walking his own path, but keeping one beady eye on what’s happening in the streets. Chimp’s first shoe for Vans also relates to today’s club kids, whose eye catching dress sense evokes a reaction from the rest of society – a way to prove they exist, to show they are really alive, really living.

Be on the look out for these in September!

In similar fashion to the Nike SB Dunk Homer Simpson, we have the Marge Simpson set to release. Everything about these are fresh, except that they’re being released exclusively Asia/Pacific. For all the true sneakerheads out there, you will know how to get your hands on these. For those that don’t know how to get their hands on overseas releases, *sighs* don’t feel too bad, you can’t have em’ all. Only thing that I think these are missing, which can easily be fixed, are red shoe laces to match Marge’s necklace and shoes. Other than that, shouts out to Hypebeast for this piece of news!

Tomorrow the Nike 112 Pack designed by DJ Clark Kent will release at select Urban Edge accounts across the country. The pack consists of a Nike Air Max 1, Air Force 1, and Air Trainer 1 which all follow the neon green/black/gray colorway. The obvious standout feature of the pack is the concrete print and the numbers “112″ represent the beginning of every zip code in Brooklyn, NYC. These are definitely gonna be sought after, so prepare to stand in line!

Let me start off by saying that Lanvin is KILLING THE GAME! Its almost to the point where there is no competition for them right now, “get down or lay down”! Ok ok, maybe I’m putting extras, but not thaaatt much. Acne Jeans & Lanvin are collaborating, bringing Acne’s knack for denim & Lanvin’s FRESH style and solid construction together. The collaboration will not only consist of jeans though. Here are some sneakers with the classic Lanvin look and denim make. Fresh.
