dita-2009-holiday-statesman

Dita is widely known in “my world” as the dopest spectacles brand! Everyone is entitled to their favorites and Dita definitely falls under mine. With that said, here is a look at Dita’s 2009 Spring/Summer Statesman collection, and also a couple from their 2009 Holiday Limited Collection. Keep a napkin handy, heavy drooling tends to occur:

Maharam has teamed up with Nike Sportswear to create three solid designs for the 2009 Holiday season. I myself admit that I have no clue who Maharam is, but apparently he’s a top fabric & material purveyors. Regardless, most of you know my penchant for sleek and simple designs, and these definitely fit the bill. Like? Look out for them at your nearest Nike Sportswear retailer.

I love when different takes on popular sneakers are successfully made. What I mean by successfully made is, the creation of them not only pays homage to the original shoe, but simultaneously opens a niche for the new shoe to become popular. Now, that has yet to be seen with these new Auto Force 180s, but I believe they have the potential to be a popular shoe. Time will tell. If you notice, the colorway stays true to the predecessor, the difference is the obvious reduction is bulk (always a good thing). From what I can tell, these will be general release for Nike’s Holiday 2009 season, and they’re available now @ Wish.

nike-air-pegasus-black-white

No “special” name for this Pegasus ‘89 release, just a dope colorway. All black with no distinctions other than a simple white swoosh and a dash of gray on the mid-sole. I would describe these as the perfect everyday shoe; a way to show that you’re up on your kick game in a unpretentious way. Sometimes you don’t need to camp overnight to get your hands on the dopest kicks. Fortunately for sneakerheads out there, you won’t have to go far to find these. They’re available @ DQM right now.

Its no secret that I’m a simpleshit junkie, so no one should be surprised that I dig these Canvas Blazer Mid SB. The new kicks come courtesy of another DOPE collaboration between Nike SB and HUF Boys. HUF was one of the first streetwear brands to lead the “keep it simple stupid” movement that’s FINALLY taking over the streetwear industry. It seems like it was just yesterday when all-over print plagued streetwear brands worldwide. Well, out with the old, in with the new, thankfully. Along with kicks, the capsule collection boasts new jackets and tees to sport with your all canvas blazers. HUF, you did it again.

The latter was actually leaked by the Surf Boys over a month ago, but I dig the joint and definitely didn’t want ya’ll to miss out on any new additions to your music collection.  These records have two things in common, 1st, neither of them are actually mixed, and the second is obvious, Mr. Carter.  For those not up on Surf Club, they’re a production team out of Los Angeles fast making a name for themselves producing for industry heavy hitters e.g. Drake, Mary J. Blige, Lil’ Wayne, the credits go on.  And I don’t think Young Money needs an introduction.  Not much to say here, download and enjoy ya’ll!

The homies U-N-I teamed up with streetwear brand Hella Tight for a very dope collaboration in the form of a snapback cap. In reference to their song “Land of the Kings”, the team crafted a Lakers-esque cap that’s sure to go over well for any U-N-I fan, snapback cap fan, and Laker fan. The caps were just released today via Hella Tight’s online store. So don’t procrastinate, they might just sell out right under your nose. Shouts to the homies U-N-I, and as an added BONUS, I put the music video to “Land of the Kings” below for your viewing pleasure.

supra-holiday-2009-vegan-pack-00

Supra has been steadily making a name as a formidable footwear brand. Their latest and dare I say, most interesting collection is the Vegan Pack. The idea is so simple, its pretty mind boggling as to why say…Vans didn’t come up with it. Kudos indeed. For the Vegan Pack, Supra created five anti-animal skin shoes from canvas material. The results are fresh! Simple solid colorways in three of their popular styles. The shoes also appear “sleeker”, a noticeable improvement from their earlier “bulkier” models (which were obviously geared more towards skaters). Shouts out to Supra, keep ‘em coming, we need company’s like you to be the wild card in this ever monotonous sneaker industry!

I consider the Spiz’ike one of the last contemporary styles worth buying from Air Jordan. While it tends to have a love/hate consensus among the masses, its hard to deny the excellent job they did combining those classic styles to create the Spiz’ike, imo. This Black Patent Spiz’ike is prime example of a DOPE Air Jordan shoe. Along with patent, it has suede areas that have paisley-esque designs on the toe and heel. These are perfect for any sneakerhead out there looking for that subdued but fresh look. No word on release date yet, but I’m sure Air Jordan is gearing up for a crazy end of year. thorocraft-spring2010-preview-part-2-4

After seeing part two of this Thorocraft preview, I’m kinda salty I missed part one! I’d say that the thing that caught my eye the most about the Thorocraft Spring Collection is the Shelton. The boot is reminiscent of the classic Ralph Lauren Moccasin Boot (unsure if that’s the official name for them). Unlike most boots, the Shelton’s design is super sleek and for lack of a better word, sexy. Honestly, the other two styles included in this preview could have been excluded as far as I’m concerned. The Shelton is that much doper, imo. One major reason it works so well is because it will look good in any color. The design of it is simply inexhaustible to the eye! The New York based, Alex James-helmed, footwear brand promotes four basic principles: craftsmanship, quality, durability, and comfort. If you keep those simple starting points in mind when creating, how can you go wrong? Interested in checking out more from Thorocraft, head over to their website.
