One of the greatest songs ever written by one of the most prolific musicians ever, John Lennon.

Tell me ya’ll remember these? I’m sure they’re still around, just not where I live at lol! What ever happened to the good ol’ days where you could walk into the corner store and get MADD shit for $1? *Sighs* In the candy category, Chick-O-Stick certainly is classic.

Here’s some things about Chick-O-Sticks you might not know:

What they really are is a peanut butter toffee crisp covered in coconut. Pretty simple. A lot like the inside of a Butterfinger bar, but a bit more solid (as you can see in the close up if you click on the photo).

The taste is good, sweet with a nice hit of salt and a really good roasted peanut butter flavor. Even though the coconut looks pretty minimal, the taste is pretty significant. Unlike some of the other crisped peanut butter candies, this one contains no trans fats, in fact the only fat in it comes from the peanut butter itself. They’re much easier to carry around than some chocolate candies because it doesn’t melt, so I can see this being a good treat for hiking or shipping long distances (the Atkinson website mentions shipping them to Iraq).

Fleetwood Mac has many classic songs in their catalog, but surprisingly. “Dreams” is their only song to go no. 1 in the United States….go figure. I recall one of my teachers reminiscing on when the Rumours LP released and how in his hometown the popular place to be at the time was the main strip. Everyone would drive up and down the strip “bangin’” the Rumours LP. Ahh, memories eh?

In preparation for the Friday Pete Rock vs. Primo battle, I decided to go back and visit a bunch of joints that they might play against one another. The obvious classics came to mind: Mass Appeal, Shut Em Down, Nas Is Like, Full Clip, T.R.O.Y. Then I remembered Royalty and Discipline and thought, Pete Rock might have a bit of trouble on his hands! This is shaping up to be an interesting friendly competition. YEAAAAAAAAEEEYEAAAAAAAEEAAAAAAA!!! * sang like KC * Ahh the cliche KC/Jodeci run.

The Source Magazine was once highly regarded within the Hip Hop community. I think its always interesting to look back at reviews of albums that are dubbed “classic” to see the initial response to them. Did they know Illmatic would have the impact it did? Click here to view ENLARGED picture!

Also, here’s a couple other reviews of classics:

Its always crazy taking a look back at the past and seeing how different people were and seeing how everything they talked about came or didn’t come into fruition. I miss old school Em, lets see how King Mathers turns out.

In the spirit of the last Eminem post I figured I would post this cause not too many people have seen this, nor will they ever see this on stage again. Bring you the ghetto without riding round…..damn, listen to that crowd!

Bonus Question: Who came nicer on the song, Eminem or Jay Z? (leave answer in the comments)

Exactly.

Sometimes you gotta go back and pay a visit to certain joints, and this is definitely one of those joints. Bilal’s ‘Sometimes’ is a classic in my opinion. Everything from the vocal arrangements to the concept of the song…..brilliant.

Shouldn’t have to say too much about this. The Voodoo EPK….

Hey single folks! I know it’s hard to see all of these couples cuddling and floating on air, heartache is a bitch. Just ask Biz….
