WTF: Florida Woman Arrested For Stabbing Boyfriend Over Pop Tarts

I’ve read some nutty stories but this has to be one of the nuttiest of the year. Stabbed over Pop Tarts?!?

LAKELAND | An 18-year-old was arrested Thursday after police say she stabbed her boyfriend over a box of Pop Tarts.

Catheline Marie Colon, 18, is charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.

According to Lakeland police, Colon and her boyfriend, Shawn Andrews, 19, were fighting over Colon’s moving out of their Lakeland apartment. The two had lived together for about three months.

About 4:30 p.m. Thursday, Colon had returned to collect some of her belongings when the two began arguing. The argument escalated into violence when Colon went into the kitchen to get a Pop Tart. Andrews pushed her and told her she couldn’t have anything, then hit her in the face, according to police. In response, police say Colon grabbed a steak knife and stabbed Andrews.

Responding to a call about a suspicious incident, officers arrived at the apartment to find Andrews gone and Colon cleaning up blood from the floor, police said.

A friend of Andrews’ had taken him to Lakeland Regional Medical Center. He told an officer he did not want to press charges and refused to provide a statement, police said.
