Dom Kennedy just released the follow up to The 25th Hour mixtape with FutureStreet/DrugSounds. The sound of this mixtape compared to the old one seems much more bass heavy and car system friendly. With all the hype going around that Asher Roth had sold 200 thousand copies of his debut album Asleep In The Bread Aisle many were starting to believe that Asher would do over 500K for his first week. Well, for those people I say believe half of what you see and none of what you hear because according to Billboard.com Rick Ross took the top spot on this weeks Billboard 200 by selling 158K in its first week. Asher actually debuted at #5 selling only 65K which is 5K short of what people were saying he sold in only 2 days.

BREAK A LEG: The Spliff LA (May 1st)

For anyone that lives in the LA area, you’ve prolly been to The Spliff at least once. But, for those that haven’t, the Spliff is a monthly event which showcases up and coming musicians on the Los Angeles scene. May 1st is no different, the line up includes Co$$, Ayomari, Curtains, Buff1, Carter and others. So, I suggest you roll through this Friday, Free beverages (sorry, no alcohol!), and $5 admission ALL NIGHT!

FOCUS: In A Dream (Trailer)

I can’t say that I knew Isaiah Zagar by name, but I’ve definitely seen his works before and it goes without question that his art is beautiful. ‘In A Dream’ is a documentary about his growth, trials & tribulations as an artist, husband, father and human being. From the trailer, you can see that everything isn’t quite there with Isaiah Zagar, but in my humble opinion, the most creative people NEVER are totally there. I believe it takes a certain amount of craziness to see & create things that the average person is either incapable of, or simply can not see. With that said…enjoy..

First blog post in awhile, I do admit that I’ve become somewhat disillusioned with the blogosphere. Too many blogs posting the same content. Are blogs becoming like radio stations…?
But enough of my yapping, lets get to the point of this blog post. Vampire Weekend x Ra Ra Riot!!! Two of my favorite bands right now, working together? Can you say HELL YEAH? Rostam Batmanglij, the keyboardist from Vampire Weekend, who handled the production of their wonderful debut, has linked up with Ra Ra Riot lead singer Wes Miles. The result is a kinda “synthy-pop-r&b” mash-up of sonic craziness. They’re working on an official release this year, no word on release date yet. I’m excited…..check out the songs below:

I believe that I’ve posted every trailer for this movie as it is one of my most highly anticipated movies this year! So with that said, here is the FINAL trailer for the next ‘LONG OVERDUE’ installation in the Harry Potter franchise. I can’t think of any franchise that has this many sequels and has stayed true to its original cast, albeit a few minor changes. I think that will make all the difference when these films are watched years down the line. Check it out & tell me you’re not excited..
