20/20: the.LIFE Files Interviews Kid Cudi @ Alife Rivington Club
Filed Under 20/20 | Leave a Comment
I know I’m late on this but I enjoyed watching this interview the.LIFE Files did with Kid Cudi @ Alife in NYC. Cudi talks about how he’s handling his sudden fame, addresses the retirement statement he made & even helps a customer out with some Jordans. Shouts out to the.LIFE Files for conducting this entertaining interview because lets be honest, most interviews are borderline boring.
Exacto.

One of my favorite brands when it comes to sneaker collaborations, Supreme, has teamed up with Nike SB for four colorways of the Nike SB Bruin. Here’s an excerpt from Highsnobiety.com:
The Supreme x Nike SB Bruin comes in red, green, black and white, featuring metallic Swooshes and matching metallic inner soles. Otherwise the sneakers come in suede, with only the heel featuring leather and the “World Famous” slogan. Supreme and Nike SB also present matching hand tags, featuring both logos. The Supreme x Nike SB Bruin Collection will be released on April 16th and the sneakers will go for 98 USD. In our opinion a very solid collaboration and the outcome are four nice summer sneakers.

The Carter Cartel got a chance to connect with Asher Roth and talk about his new album Asleep In The Bread Aisle which drops on 4/20. Asher sheds a little light on the whole project which was mostly produced by Oren Yoel, the collaborations he has lined up for the album and the dreaded Eminem comparison. All in all, a pretty fresh interview.

LOL! While the concept seems simple enough there are some of us that still can’t get it together. I love how this kid tries to punt the ball on the second try. Hey, trial and error….at least he’s trying different techniques.

NEW JOINT: New Boyz - You’re A Jerk
Filed Under NEW JOINT | 41 Comments

Ok, now I know this song isn’t new but I’m sure there are a bunch of people that haven’t heard it yet. It’s from this group called New Boyz who are at the forefront of this movement growing in Los Angeles called “Jerkin”. Very reminiscent of The Pack (SF) and some would argue Cool Kids but other than the colorful clothing and gold chains they’re pretty different. Apparently they just signed to Warner Bros and their single has been playing on Power 106 a lot lately. Basically, jerkin is about to take over the globe. Pause.

Not to make light of horrible car crashes or anything but this is just interesting. Some of them are comical but most of them are just puzzling.
P.S. - Internet killed the video star.

This has been one of my favorite joints of the year so far, constant rotation on those nights I go out. So just when I was thinking Lil’ John’s version of the remix was the official, this drops out of nowhere. I should expect nothing less from Kanye but I must admit that this one caught me totally off guard. Another joint to add to your “Club” mix cds…Enjoy

The other new Good Music signee ‘Big Sean’ spit this freestyle backstage at SXSW this past weekend. I admit that I wasn’t a huge fan of Big Sean when I first heard him and honestly, I’m not a super fan of his now. But, what I will say is that the more I hear him, I get to actually hear “him” and with that said, he’s growing on me as an artist. I’ve yet to hear anything incredible yet, but ‘Supa Dupa’ is pretty close. Check out this dope freestyle, and Big Sean, if you’re reading this…keep it coming..
