If you didn’t come out this past Saturday to The Echoplex then you definitely missed out on one hell of a time. Here’s some footage of Pac Div performing a snippet of their new joint called She feat. TiRon and Mayor. It’s incredible how no one has Mayor but everyone knows it! In any case, check the footage and feel bad you weren’t there.

Tomorrow night will definitely be a live night! The good folks over at DubFrequency and The Echoplex are throwing an event featuring performances by Pacific Division, U-N-I, The 87 Stick Up Kids, Dom Kennedy, Million $ Mano, Diz Gibran, Them Jeans and more! It’s 18 and up so all of you new adults can come out and get your grown up on, but it’ll run you 18 bucks. It’s only 10 dollars for you 21 and uppers though!

With the year 2012 rapidly approaching it’s about time they decided to make a movie on the end of the Mayan calendar. We haven’t had a good “end of the world” movie in a minute. I’ve heard terrible things about The Day Earth Stood Still so hopefully this movie will make everyone shit their pants.

This must have taken a while to figure out but definitely well worth it. AKQA Films decided to put a bunch of different microwaves together and turn them all on in a specific order so their timer dings play out Jingle Bells….pretty creative.

I heard VIMBY was dropping a mixtape early 09 and I guess this confirms it. Here’s footage of Buff 1, TiRon and Ayomari in the studio working on a joint called Def 82 produced by Cook Classics. It’s good to see dope artists in the same room writing together instead of showing up with pre written verses.

Over @ Stereogum.com they have a series called ‘Decomposed’, which consists of bringing together up-and-coming indie artists, established artists & musicians for a live studio session to JAM OUT! Here’s a brief synopsis:
A few weeks ago he put out a call for a pianist and an a cappella group to help decompose some tunes for us. Along with those folks, he brought a pretty enthusiastic up-and-comer named Jermaine Dupri (!). Throw in a cowboy flutist, Alone II tunes, and a Beach Boys cover, and you have a Rivers-sized holiday spectacle.
Now I don’t know about ya’ll, but I’ve been listening to Jermaine Dupri in one form or another for the better part of my life and I can’t say I expected this from him, LOL. This is pretty fresh.
