I know Gourmet caught a lot of flack when they first came out due to the extreme similarities to Jordan, but since, they’ve begun building a solid foundation. With their upcoming Holiday Collection, which goes by the “Resort Collection”, they’ve maintained their simplistic approached with a few changes. They no longer look like Jordan rip-offs. Gourmet seems to be taking on an identity of its own with this release; strong solid colors & simple design. Here’s some details from Highsnobiety.com:
For Holiday 2008 Gourmet introduces the Resort Collection, which consists of the Due and the Quattro. The Due comes in full grain calf suede, braided laces, double sided zipper closure and memory foam insoles. It will be available in black and bone. The Quattro features full grain tumbled calf nubuck with braided laces and memory foam insoles as well and will be released in dark chocolate and black.
Expect the Gourmet Resort Collection to be released December 2008 at finer retailers.
