My favorite artist in R&B right now has dropped his second single to his upcoming third album “Year of the Gentleman”, ‘Miss Independent’. This video probably contains the highest number of beautiful women of the year, and possibly top 5 of all time! Not to mention, three of the baddest ladies take lead; Gabrielle Union, Keri Hilson, & Laura London. I think I’ve said enough….

BJ The Chicago Kid is easily one of my favorite new vocalists these days. Here’s a joint that might be old to some but new to the rest of you, and because of that reason we felt it was worth a post. BJ The Chicago Kid’s “Who’s” follows the concept that had Johnny Taylor once asking, “Who’s making love to your old lady while you were out making love?” Check it out, its fresh.

*Ok, to day one fans this post will be a repeat but that was then and this is now.

BJ The Chicago Kid was also featured on Your New Favorite Mixtape with Diz Gibran. So download it if you haven’t already.

So recently Vibe Magazine released their 15th Anniversary Issue with Jay Z as the headline for the cover. The result was three different collector covers that hit the newsstands. In my opinion, being that magazines and newspapers are slowly phasing out, I’d recommend buying one of these issues. We get to see the behind the scenes footage of the photo shoot for the issue, pretty cool. Check it out..

I’m on the lookout for all things Jack Sample Pros., from the loose joints floating around to the Ty & Kory Raw and Bangin’ Vol. 1 with Hey Ty on it. Anyway, I found this joint called Makin Love…I heard it was on their MySpace a while ago. Gotta love the way they chopped the Marvin Gaye record.

So ever since Pac Division got that phone with Kyte capabilities they’ve been filming all kinds of shit; tarantulas, signing to Universal/Motown, and backstage at Rock The Bells. Well after visiting San Francisco recently, we can now add the loveable Ol’ Otis to that list of Pac Div TV classics.

So, in a chess move worthy of applause, Mountain Dew creates an online record label that releases songs for FREE from up and coming artists. For the first release, The Cool Kids had the honor to launch off Green Label Sound properly with “Delivery Man”. And if you know anything about The Cool Kids, then you know that they’re pretty consistent. So Enjoy!

So this man’s last dying wish was to allow family and friends who attended his wake to have their final contact with him…literally. To accomplish this, through a special embalming process Angel Pantoja Medina, who was dead, could physically be at his own wake….in the corner. Family members even kissed him…

What in the fucking world is going on with people? Does any of this seem normal to anyone? I hope not..

Dis-Cust-Ting!

Shouts to Illseed for this shit…..*hacks*

In today’s edition of GEARHEADS I want to show you sunglasses & glasses made by Italian manufacturer SUPER. They’ve made some recent noise with their collaborations with Alife & Barney’s and with a name like SUPER, best believe the shades better be dope! It seems the new trend in eyeglass wear is the thick frame, which in my opinion are fresh! Check out more pics @ Hypebeast.com!!!! These are now available @ Caliroots!

VIMBY.com went over to kick it with up and comer, TiRon, out of Los Angeles, CA. There was plenty of laughs, music, and food! Pacific Division was in the house, Phonix of 1500 or Nothin’ came through and represented, plus a gang of other people. The video also gives you a little insight into TiRon’s life and inspirations. The Los Angeles movement is in full effect, so if you aren’t on the look out now, you might wanna start paying attention!

It’s that time again, and if you aren’t too up on game about that time then let me fill you in. Every first Saturday of the month there is an event called Boombox that is held in Downtown LA, Chinatown to be exact. Due to the fact that Boombox is only once a month it usually means that the guest hosts are a big deal. Last month they had Pacific Division come down and even J Rocc of the infamous Beat Junkies rocked a set. Well, this month the good ol Soul Scienz crew decided to have Blu & Mainframe roll through and perform as Johnson & Jonson to celebrate the release of the Johnson & Jonson album, which drops September 23rd on Tres Records. Guest appearances from Gaslamp Killer, Exile, Gonja Sufi and Co$$. This will definitely be an event you don’t want to miss…..TRUST ME!

Doors Open at 9:30
21 & OVER
Ladies get in free before 11.
And it’s $5 before 10:30, $10 after that.
