I already know many of you might not know who Shuggie Otis is or how ahead of his time he actually was but I’m sure you’ve heard his work. He started playing professionally when he was only 12 and he’s the man responsible for Strawberry Letter 23 by Brothers Johnson, a song he wrote when he was about 24. This song however he wrote when he was just 20 years old, which is quite remarkable in comparison to the music that 20 year olds put out in this day and age. Some of you might recognize this song from Beyonce’s Dangerously In Love album on the song called Gift From Virgo where she actually took this entire song and sang over it. I thought about featuring the whole Inspiration Information album but I felt it might go over your head a bit. But if you dig Rainy Day then I suggest you go out and buy this album.
