WTF: OKAYplayer Message Boards

OKAY, now I’ve heard the term “hip hop is dead” but I didn’t really think much of it until I saw some of the things people decide to talk about on the Okayplayer message boards. While I was doing my daily check up on the OKAYplayer hip hop community I came across a message board post that I thought was both tacky and pointless. The title of the post was simply:
“fellas: if you HAD to have sex with one MALE Okayartist”
Now, I know hip hop is pretty boring right now. With all of the Lil Wayne mixtapes dropping and the so called “highly anticipated” albums that only deliver a lackluster and unsatisfying experience, I know it’s easy to lose interest in the happenings of the hip hop world. But damn…is there nothing better to talk about or speak on than THIS? SNAP OUT OF IT MAN! It’ll get better, I promise!! But for now, I just have to SMH in dismay.

TALKIES: The Fall (Trailer)

The Fall unites an unlikely band of steampunk-era heroes — The Indian, The Ex-Slave, The Explosives Expert, The Masked Bandit, and Charles Darwin — to fight a common enemy, Governor Odious. Director Tarsem is best known for his movie The Cell, which was gorgeous eye-candy with a story that dragged. He’s also been attached to the remake of Westworld and Nautica, but was either replaced or left those projects. The Fall was shown at the Toronto International Film Festival in 2006, and has taken its sweet time to make its way around the world.
It looks to be equal parts Big Fish and Pan’s Labyrinth as well as The League. That’s a good start. Plus, Charles Darwin as a fictional science hero? We’re there.

GEARHEADS: Puma S/S ‘08 Tetris Pack

Puma never ceases to amaze me with their recent releases. I mean seriously, if these aren’t dope, then somebody needs to step their kick game up, and it ain’t I. Here’s a lil’ synopsis:
Puma has already released two sneakers of the Tetris pack, including the First Round and the Disc Blaze. Now they also released a matching RS100. It comes with anall white upper, pink details on the laces and the lining and the Tetris pattern going over the mid sole.
